We Welcome You to Join Us This Sunday for Worship
If you're looking for a church, we hope you visit St. Petri Lutheran Church. We come together every Sunday morning to worship our God as followers of Jesus Christ, the Father, and the Holy Spirit. We come together to support one another as a family. Please join us this Sunday for a time of worship and friendship!
For those who can't make it in person, we webcast our weekly services on YouTube! We leave each week's sermon uploaded for you to watch whenever you'd like.

St. Petri Lutheran Church is a member congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) and the Northeastern Iowa Synod of that church. Our mission statement declares that "We are disciples of Christ, called to grow in Christ and to invite all to follow him."
From its earliest days, St. Petri Lutheran Church has been building upon the foundation of the confession of faith made by St. Peter in Matthew 16:16: Jesus is "the Messiah, the Son of the living God." The foundation is Jesus, and everything we do is rooted in and defined by his grace and mercy for us.
We are disciples of Jesus Christ, called to grow in Christ, and to invite all to follow him.
St. Petri is a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and is the oldest congregation in the community, rich in history and rooted in the promise of God’s love and mercy. We meet together weekly in fellowship and worship to grow in our knowledge and relationship with Jesus Christ. We are a welcoming church and invite all to come and worship with our faith family.
This is an in-depth explanation of our church's beliefs. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us!
If you enjoy sewing, quilting or engaging in lively conversation as you tie quilts (no experience necessary), we have a couple of quilting groups you could be a part of in our congregation. Both meet at different times through-out the year for various projects. For more information about their meeting times, contact Veronica in the office.
Tithing is Biblical. Everything we have is bestowed upon us by God. To tithe is to show thanks for all that is ours. You can tithe in person at our church or reach out to us for more information on how you can tithe at any time.

We currently worship at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday mornings, sharing our Lord's Supper on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month and on the major feast days of the church. We worship in a variety of styles and believe there is no "one" way to sing praises to God. We believe we are called to connect all ages in worship, from the youngest to the oldest among us.
We are partners with other congregations in the area through the Roland-Story Ministerial Association. Through these connections, we pursue joint ministries whenever possible, such as Loaves and Fishes (our local food pantry) and ecumenical worship services throughout the year.
Through our connections as part of the ELCA, we can reach the farthest corners of the earth, proclaiming the gospel in word and deed, which would be impossible on our own. We support ELCA missionaries in Japan, the work of Lutheran World Relief, Lutheran Immigrant & Refugee Services, Lutheran Disaster Response, and many other ministries of the ELCA.
We hope this website provides a way for you to connect with what God is doing through the ministry of St. Petri Lutheran Church. We hope our congregation can make it easier for you to reach out to others, and we invite all to keep on growing into all Christ intends for us as his disciples. He is our Lord. May we follow together, united in joyful witness and loving service.
Yes, you can click the floating button on our site to be taken to our prayer request form. Alternatively, you can also request one in person. We give you the option of having your prayer prayed for publicly by the church congregation or privately.
Please don't hesitate to let us know how we can help you!
